These photos are from our second lumberjack session of the day. The first required climbing down and out a treacherous boulder, debris and hole-filled bush-wacked path. After we flipped a load up the mountainside and into the truck Phil shuttled me deeper and higher into the backcountry with a mtn bike, a map, full protection, a snack and water. After a solid climb on the bike I started down Ring Creek Rip which took me over to Powerhouse Plunge (the black diamond run that Phil threw me on for my first ever mtn bike trail a day prior). Gettin' worked. After a few hours in the woods I made my way back to the house, where it was time to split logs (axe). Then, in an effort to collect all the firewood for the year (and secure my lodging for Whistler Blackcomb next snowboard season) we went back up the fire service roads and took the biggest load of the day. Unloaded at the house, cut to length, ready for splitting today. Then came the inevitable wonderful dinner and nightly longboard run.
